PURPOSE: A cylinder deactivation device for a tappet valve is provided to improve operation reliability of a tappet valve by simply generating a lost motion interval using a hydraulic device. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder deactivation device for a tappet valve comprises a motion converting unit, a hydraulic device, and a spacer unit. The motion converting unit converts the rotational motion of a cam(2) into up-and-down motion. The hydraulic device is moved up and down by the motion converting unit and keeps contact with a tappet valve(8) which opens and closes an intake port or an exhaust port of each cylinder of an engine. The spacer unit forms a certain gap between the motion converting unit and the tappet valve. The motion converting unit includes a support plate(1) which is moved up and down according to the profile of the cam while keeping in contact with the cam so as to press the tappet valve. |
