METHOD OF AUTOMATIC EXTRACTION OF BUILDING BOUNDARIES USING AIRBORNE LIDAR

PURPOSE: A building outline automatic extraction method using air LIDAR data is provided to realize simplification of an operating process and reduction of operating time by extracting outline of a building automatically. CONSTITUTION: Data corresponding to a tree is removed from irregular air LIDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) data(S1). Ground/non-ground data is separated from the air LIDAR data. Data corresponding to a building is extracted from the non-ground data(S2). The extracted building data is grouped according to each building(S3). Outer points of the grouped buildings is extracted(S4). Cover points of the building are extracted from edge points of each building(S5). Outline of the building is simplified(S6).
