PURPOSE: A dust collector and a dust collecting method using the same are provided to save manpower, and to automatically filter and discharge dust produced in a continuous casting process after sucking the dust. CONSTITUTION: A dust collector(100) comprises the following: a dust collecting part discharging the filtered air by adsorbing dust in a filter part(250) equipped inside the dust collector; a removing part(300) falling the dust adsorbed in the filter by using the filter part; a discharge part(400) discharging and collecting the dust; and a control part stopping the removing part and the discharge part after operation of each part.
