METHOD FOR PROVIDING ABR SERVICE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND BASE STATION CONTROLLER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for providing abr service in a mobile communication system and a base station controller using the same are provided to comprise RM cell transceived between source and destination by F-RM cell and R-RM cell, thereby preventing traffic overhead in message transfer of a outband type. CONSTITUTION: A random arbitrary component of ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) mobile communication system functions as ABR(Available Bit Rate) source or ABR destination. If the F-RM cell is received, the ABR destination transmits R-RM(Reverse-Resource Management) to the ABR source. The ABR source and the ABR destination are located in BSC(Base Station Controller) which controls one or more BSs(140~143). The R-RM cell includes congestion prediction information of network related to the BSC.
