The object is to sterilize a drinking water or a food in a simple manner by utilizing carbon dioxide in the form of gas. Thus, disclosed is a method for processing a food containing a microorganism or an enzyme, which is characterized by contacting the food with carbon dioxide microbubbles under a pressure of 0.2 to 2 MPa to sterilize the microorganism in the food or deactivate the enzyme in the food.
