PURPOSE: A Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 KCTC 11402BP is provided to promote Th1 reaction and to enhance immunity by controlling Th1/Th2 unbalance. CONSTITUTION: A Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 KCTC 11402BP is isolated from Kimchi. A composition for preventing and treating intestinal diseases contains the Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 KCTC 11402BP. A composition for enhancing immunity contains Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56. The composition is used for preventing and treating immune diseases. Immune diseases are allergy, atopy, cancer, or autoimmune diseases.
