PURPOSE: A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the escape of a sealant from the non-display area of a discharge position by forming a pattern for guide the discharge of the sealant. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate(105) and a second substrate(110) include a display region and a non-display region and opposes to each other. A driving unit corresponds to the display region on the first substrate. A display unit corresponds to the display region on the second substrate. Guide patterns(172, 174) are installed in the non-display region of the first substrate or the second substrate. The discharge position of a sealant is guided by the guide patterns. A seal pattern(190) is located on the guide patterns.
