METHOD FOR HANDOFF OF PORTABLE TERMINAL BETWEEN HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS NETWORKS

PURPOSE: A method for handoff of mobile terminal among heterogeneous wireless networks is provided to down application software for configuration of wireless connection environment in a target network before handoff in advance, thereby shortening reconfiguration time of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: If an RSS1(Received Signal Strength1) of the first network exceeds the first THRSS1(Threshold RSS1), a SDR(Software Defined Radio) terminal checks existence of the first network related software(S510,S520). The SDR terminal downs the first network related software from SDR server(S540). If a handoff to the first network is determined, the SDR terminal configures wireless environment about the first network through the first network related software(S570,S580). The SDR terminal performs the vertical handoff to the first network(S590).
