<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the exhaust gas cleaning device of a heat engine for removing CO, NOx in exhaust gas in an oxygen-excessive atmosphere with high CO, NOx removing performance, an exhaust gas cleaning method, and a CO, NOx removing catalyst used for the same. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning device is disposed in an exhaust gas flow passage of the heat engine discharging exhaust gas in an oxygen-excessive atmosphere higher than an amount of stoichiometry, the cleaning device including a CO removal catalyst removing CO by oxidation, or further, the CO, NOx removing catalyst having a function of reducing NOx in the exhaust gas using CO as a reducing agent. The CO removal catalyst has a catalyst activating component containing Nb, and further a NOx removal function is given by adding Ir to it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
