<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can carry out dust removal from a secondary filter and a primary filter located in its upstream simultaneously in their suitable ways. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the body of a vacuum cleaner, a dust cup (dust collecting vessel) 13 is detachably placed in the upstream of an electrical blower contained in the body. A primary filter frame 22, a flexible crosspiece 23 placed in the frame, and a primary filter 21 having a net 24 attached to them are located in the dust cup 13 so that they face a dust collecting room 15 inside. A secondary filter frame 32 and a secondary filter 31 having a wavy filtering member 33 are placed in the downstream of the primary filter 21 in the dust cup 13. A dust removal device 41 having a dust removing body 43 which is moved in the direction of the alignment of gathers 33b in the downstream of the filtering member 33 and hit these gathers 33b is placed in the downstream of the secondary filter 31. A connecting means 51 which transfers vibration of the gathers 33b to the crosspiece 23 over the crosspiece 23 and the gathers 33b of the filtering member 33 is mounted.
