<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a lever in a chair in which the motion of the lever is transmitted to a wire and a drive member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the chair, an inner shell 17 composing a seat 4 is attached to an outer shell 19, and levers 20 and 21 are disposed on side surfaces of the outer shell 19. The levers 20 and 21 are attached to the outer shell 19 in such a way as to turn around the center of axis extending in the back and forth direction. With this structure, a seated person can operate the levers 20 and 21 in the natural state. Rope guide tube materials 49 and 50 are disposed in such an attitude as to extend in the back and forth direction in long grooves 45 in side edges of the outer shell 19, and a tube 56 is held so as not to move forward. The direction of the wire 57 is converted by a pulley 65 to be locked to the levers 20 and 21.
