<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that reduces utility costs and increases the efficiency of cooling and heating operations. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A tank through which water can flow is disposed around refrigerant piping in an outdoor unit of the air conditioner in the vicinity of a heat exchanger. The water flowing through the tank recovers heat from a refrigerant, and the water heated in the recovery is supplied to a hot water storage tank and a bathroom.
