<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect trap capable of safely catching and collecting insects without using an insecticide while having a simple and inexpensive structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The insect trap 1 for catching insects 2 having flying abilities by attracting them includes a housing 3 opened at the front and rear faces, a light source 4 for catching the insects 2, being an attracting source for attracting the insects 2 into the housing 3, a tank 5 for storing water, and a heating part 6 for forming steam by boiling the water in the tank 5. The insect trap 1 further has a spraying part 7 for spraying the steam formed at the heating part 6 to the insects 2, and a collecting part 8 for collecting the steam sprayed from the spraying part 7, and the insects 2 having received the steam. A large number of the insects 2 can easily be caught by spraying the seam to the insects 2 attracted by the light from the light source 4, and catching and collecting the insects after being killed or weakened.
