PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device, capable of stabilizing transportability of large-sized materials to be heated even after consecutively printing a large quantity of small-sized materials to be heated. SOLUTION: A heat fixing device 6 includes a fixing film 13, having an elastic layer 132 disposed therein, and a pressure roller 20 for forming a fixing nip part N together with the fixing film 13 and heats an unfixed toner image Ta on a recording material P, while clipping and transporting the recording material in the fixing nip part N. When an environment in which the heat fixing device 6 is installed has high humidity, a control is performed such that the temperature of the fixing film 13 is set lower, and the transport interval of recording materials P is made wider in comparison with those in the environment having low humidity.
