THERMAL POWER GENERATION PLANT AND THERMAL POWER GENERATION PLANT OPERATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly transfer an operation-started power generation plant to a normal operation status.

SOLUTION: The method for operation of a thermal power generation plant is to gradually increase the effective power of a synchronous electric generator connected in parallel with a power system while operating a steam engine in the start mode after starting operation; increase the effective power to reach the target value by making adjustment for weakening the field of a rotor by an excitation means to decrease the ineffective part of the power of the synchronous electric generator and further decreasing the energy consumed for excitation if an effective power rise degree is below a certain level after the effective power value reaches a neighboring area of a preset target value; and switch to a normal mode under the condition of the effective power of the synchronous electric generator satisfying the output condition reaching the target value.
