PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoreceptor suitable for an image forming method of forming a high-density electrostatic latent image on an organic photoreceptor by imagewise exposure using a semiconductor laser or a light-emitting diode having an oscillation wavelength of 350-500 nm, the photoreceptor having high sensitivity and excellent in durability, image reproducibility and stability of image reproducibility, and to provide an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge using the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The organic photoreceptor is an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a charge generating layer and a charge transporting layer on a conductive support, wherein the charge generating layer contains at least one of azo pigment, and the charge transporting layer contains at least one among the compounds expressed by a general formula (1) and a general formula (2).
