<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for homogenizing molten glass. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for homogenizing molten glass comprises a stir chamber 20 including a rotatable stirrer 40 disposed therein. The apparatus further comprises a catcher 54 coupled to the shaft 42 of the stirrer 40, the catcher 54 having a concave, bowl-like shape and adapted to prevent particulate from falling from upper surfaces of the stir chamber 20 into the molten glass. At least a portion of the bottom of the catcher 54 is in contact with the upper surface of the molten glass, whereas a peripheral edge of the catcher 54 is preferably raised above the upper surface of the molten glass to prevent molten glass from coming into contact with an upper surface of the catcher 54.
