PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the temperature of a dug Kotatsu, capable of preventing occurrence of situations that a user feels too hot or too cold, and energy is wastefully consumed due to a starting-up operation performed independently from the temperature inside of a storage. SOLUTION: The dug Kotatsu includes a table 1, the storage 2 recessed on a floor surface at a lower part of the table 1 and receiving a user's body, a heating means 3 for heating the inside of the storage 2, an inside-storage temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature in the storage 2, and a control unit for controlling the heating means 3. The starting-up operation of high output of the heating means 3 is performed in starting a heating operation, and the steady operation of the output of the heating means 3 smaller than that in the starting-up operation is performed after the starting-up operation. A time to perform the starting-up operation is automatically set according to the temperature measured by the inside temperature measuring means in starting the heating operation.
