A method for controlling the population size of pests of pop maize includes using the parasite of eggs of lepidopterous pests, in particular Trichogramma. On maize crops, in the row spacings of the each third row the grass plant blue mallow (Malva sylvestris) is grown. In addition, in the period of egg laying of females of the European corn borer (Ostrinia nybilalis Hb.), cotton noctuid moth (Heliotis armigera Hb.) and relative species of noctuids triple settling of Trichogramma of the species Trichogramma pintoi Voeg. is carried out at the beginning of mass egg laying and in 8-10 days after the first settling. A consumption rate of Trichogramma is 85 and 100 females per 0.01 ha. At emergence of caterpillars of elder ages of the borer and noctuids single settling of the ectoparasite of Habrobrakon (Habrobrakon hebetor Say.) is carried out in an equivalent of 35-40 imagoes per 0.01 ha. |
