The vehicle (1) has an upwardly movable roof (2) securable in an opened position by a mechanical locking device. The locking device includes a tail hook that is attached to roof regions in a perpendicular position when a roof opening in the roof regions is formed opposite to an extension plane. An expandable retaining jaw reaches a height of an antifriction bearing of the roof and engaged with the antifriction bearing by a moving part.
