PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to increase the compressing speed and the compressing volume of a linear compressor by achieving bidirectional compression due to the reciprocating movement of a piston. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a linear compressor which comprises: a cylinder(420) wherein a first compression room and a second compression room are formed in both ends; and a piston(430) which straightly reciprocates in the cylinder and compresses fluid in the first compression room and the second compression room wherein a first intake part and a second intake part which inhale the fluid are respectively formed and a first discharge part and a second discharge part which discharge the compressed fluid is respectively formed.
