<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide content playback functions that are more useful than those of prior art. <P>SOLUTION: Contents are created by adding meta information including program making information related to a program and jump control information as program unit contents. In response to a jump operation, in playing back the program unit contents using a playback device, by referencing the program making information in accordance with control information, the playback device switches to playback of text contents related to the program unit contents.
