<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm whether or not a welding electrode tip is positioned perpendicularly to a workpiece in a short period of time without employing a complicated configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tip angle measuring apparatus 26 for implementing the tip angle measuring method is provided with a curved first grip 30 and second grip 32, wherein a first detector 60a is installed between a first arm 34a and a second arm 34b of the first grip 30 and a second detector 60b is installed between a third arm 50a and a fourth arm 50b constituting the second grip 32. The first and the second grip 30, 32 are fixed by a binder 44 when coming close to each other. When the second electrode tip 22 abuts on a workpiece W and if the needles 82 of the first and the second detector 60a, 60b show the same graduation, thereby confirmation is made that the workpiece W is in perpendicular contact with the second electrode tip 22.
