PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brace damper being capable of improving a dynamic performance to a conventional brace damper and of being easily assembled without impairing appearance in case of an installation while the length of the brace damper can be adjusted flexibly. SOLUTION: In a damper body 1, steel plates 4 are laminated on both sides of the web holding the web 3a of a first H-shaped steel 3 therebetween, and pairs of stiffening members 5 for preventing the bucklings of the steel plates 4 are laminated and housed between the upper and lower flanges of first H-shaped steel 3 so as to hold the web 3a of first H-shaped steel 3 and the steel plates 4. Furthermore, viscoelastic bodies 6 are interposed between the steel plate 4 and the web 3a of the first H-shaped steel 3 and respectively between the steel plate 4 and the stiffening members 5. A web 7a is inserted between the other-ends 4d of the pair of the steel plates 4 on the other end side of the damper body 1, and the web 7a is connected to the other ends 4d side of the pair of the steel plates 4, so as to provide second H-shaped steel 7.
