PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle control unit for suppressing an abnormal increase in the rotation frequency of a motor. SOLUTION: In the electric vehicle control unit 1 driving the motor 2 by controlling a VVVF inverter 11, when the rotation frequency F detected with the motor rotation speed detector 5 of the motor 2 exceeds the maximum speed setting value FMAX, a maximum over-speed detecting device 13 stops the VVVF inverter 11.
