PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp which hardly generates bending of an electrode 1 in spite of lighting-up at a fixed period. SOLUTION: In the high-pressure discharge lamp having a discharge envelope wherein a sealing section 5 is connected to both ends of a light-emitting section 4 and a pair of electrodes 1 wherein a base end 12 is buried in the sealing section 5 and the tips 11 are oppositely arranged in the light-emitting section 4, a circular crystallization layer 2 is formed on a part of the surface of an inner wall 51 of the sealing section 5 facing to the electrode 1 buried in the sealing section 5 along the approximately whole periphery in the circumference direction.
