<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate processing burden when signal processing of an audio signal is performed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A signal S1 of an audible frequency region is extracted by a linear phase low pass filter 1 from an audio signal Sin, and forwarded to a signal processing section 3 after thinning processing is performed on the signal S1 by a thinning section 2. Interpolation section 4 performs interpolation processing on the signal S3 which is processed by the signal processing section 3, and a signal S5 is created by smoothing processing by the linear phase low pass filter 1. The signal S1 of the audible frequency region is subtracted from the audio signal Sin by a subtraction section 8, and the subtracted signal S7 and the signal S5 are added by an adder section 6, and thereby, an audio signal Sout of the same frequency region with the audio signal Sin is created.
