<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner, which can be equipped with a plurality of (two or more) main filters having different thicknesses without changing the shape of an air cleaner body side, and at the same time, can take out the main filter and a pre-filter simultaneously and can do the rinsing of them as a whole. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A filter device 14 arranged in a body case 1 is constituted by the main filter 15, the pre-filter 16, and a filter frame body 21 housing the main filter and the pre-filter, and a projecting piece 16a engaging with the filter frame body 21 is formed on the rim of the pre-filter 16. Plural rows of engaging holes 22 engaging with the projecting piece 16a are formed in the filter frame body 21 at different positions in a direction in which wind flows. A plurality of main filters 15 different in thickness are held not so as to drop off by the pre-filter 16 in the common filter frame body 21 by selecting the engaging hole 22 engaging with the projecting piece 16a.
