<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a toner for electrophotography that improves print quality and to provide the toner for electrophotography. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the toner for electrophotography to be used in an image formation device of a one-component development type includes a sieving step of vibrating a sieve net 25 so that the horizontal amplitude of the sieve is larger than the vertical amplitude. The invention prevents a toner particle from standing with its long side vertical against the mesh of the sieve net 25 and thus prevents a long and narrow particle from getting into the toner product.
