FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to manufacturing of wire containing radioactive californium-252. Method involves cross-section diametre reduction in metal ceramic wire (17) containing radioactive californium, along with wire cross-section shape fitting to circle. Split terminal (15) is used to reduce wire diametre by adjustable pressure impulse application along with wire section shape optimisation. Preferrable version of method implementation involves its use in radioactive operation chambers for production of optimised metal ceramic sources with high content of radioactive californium-252 for brachytherapy.
