<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide protective projections for protecting a lens array on both sides of the lens array, whereby a surface of a microlens is hardly damaged. <P>SOLUTION: The lens array unit 1 includes a lens plate that has the lens array where a plurality of lenses are arranged in a direction orthogonal to respective optical axes, and forms an erect unmagnified image by arranging at least two lens plates so that the optical axes of the respective lenses may be aligned.
