PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of freely taking a movement route of a car without crossing, congestion and mutual interference of guide ways even in a two-dimensional space, and capable of being moved at a high speed without impairing stability of a person and baggage on the car when the car is moved in a direction other than a vertical direction in the elevator device which is also moved in the direction other than the vertical direction. SOLUTION: The elevator device includes: a traveling truck movable along the guide ways; a turnable support part provided on the traveling truck and in parallel to a guide roller for guiding the traveling truck so as to support the car; and a means for controlling turning of the supported car. Further, in the elevator device, the means for controlling turning of the car is made to an electric means or a hydraulic device or a combination of the electric means and the hydraulic device.
