PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber chop high in heat resistance, high in collectability, having a free fiber rate of≤5%, and excellent in moldability and workability. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber chop prepared by collecting and interlacing 3,000 to 50,000 single carbon fibers has a free fiber rate of≤8% and has an adheshion amount of sizing agent of 0.1 to 1.5 mass%.
