<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polarizing particles capable of obtaining film for a suspended particle device excellent in heat resistance and light fastness, and even in the case that it is used under a high temperature or an environment of being exposed to light for a long period of time, the contrast reduction of the same becomes extremely small. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This method for producing polarizing particles for the suspended particle device by reacting calcium iodide, iodine and pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid in the presence of a dispersant in a solvent to form a compound between molecules constituted by a polyiodide compound consisting of the iodine, calcium iodide and pyrazine dicarboxylic acid is characterized in that as the dispersant, nitrocellulose having 11.5 to 12.2% nitrogen content prescribed by the JIS K-6703 and 20,000 to 60,000 weight-average molecular weight is used.
