PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant current generator for an electronic light emitting light source increasing accuracy in luminance adjustment and flexibly coping with a change in load after operation of a device with a simple circuit structure for a lamp using the electronic light emitting light source. SOLUTION: A commercial AC single phase light source 110, a capacitor bank and a primary winding 13OP of an output transformer 130 are connected in series with one another. A plurality of lamps 140 in each of which the electronic light emitting light source 140B is mounted are connected in series with a secondary winding 130S of the output transformer 130. The capacitor bank is constituted of a plurality of capacitors C1-C6 which are connected in parallel with one another and switches S1-S6 connected to both terminals of the capacitors. The above problem is solved by changing the number of capacitors constituting the capacitor bank by switching operations of the switches to linearly change the amplitude of an AC constant current generated in the secondary winding 130S of the output transformer 130.
