The solar module has a covering layer made of a transparent material, a photovoltaic layer (3) and a base layer (9) made of fiber reinforced material. The base layer of fiber reinforced material is made of hard glass laminate. The covering layer made of a transparent material is a toughened-safety glass disk (1). The electrical connection of the photovoltaic layer takes place by copper foil. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a solar module.
