PURPOSE: An anticancer composition containing Zelkova serrata Makino extract is provided to induce cancer cell apoptosis and to treat oral cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, or cervical cancer. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer composition contains 0.001-50 weight% of Zelkova serrata Makino methanol extract as an active ingredient. The Zelkova serrata Makino methanol extract obtained from Zelkova serrata Makino stem of Zelkova serrata Makino using methanol, or diluted methanol. The composition is a food, food additive, beverage, or beverage additive.
