<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display which is inexpensive though being thin and has high contrast and low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The image display includes a plurality of light source units 2 disposed apart from each other, LED driving circuits 31, and a liquid crystal panel. Each light source unit 2 includes a light guide 21 and an LED 22, and the light guide 21 includes a light scattering part. Driving circuits 31 individually adjust luminous fluxes emitted from respective light source units 2 by controlling the light source units 2 in accordance with an image displayed on the liquid crystal panel, to change screen brightness of the liquid crystal panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
