<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of securely ensuring a predetermined necessary amount of hot water even when a large amount of hot water is used unexpectedly during boiling operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the storage water heater, at first time before the start of the boiling operation, the boiling necessary amount of hot water is recognized based on the necessary amount of hot water and the remaining amount of hot water. First recognition is performed to recognize boiling operation time necessary for securing the boiling necessary amount of hot water by first heating capacity, and by performing boiling operation corresponding to the time, the predetermined necessary amount of hot water is secured within a hot water storage tank at second time.
