<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering device which has nearly the same steering reaction force characteristics as those of the conventional devices, and also to provide a method of controlling the device. <P>SOLUTION: The phase of a steering reaction force is advanced more than that of a steering angle in the vehicular steering device, in which a steering wheel and a steering mechanism for steering a steered wheel are mechanically separated from each other, and which steer-controls the steered wheel to a steering angle according to a steering angle of the steering wheel, and gives the steering wheel the steering reaction force according to the steering angle of the steering wheel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
