PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine for appropriately obtaining facsimile transmission and facsimile reception while respecting user's will, and to provide a control method thereof and a program. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine includes a FAX transmitting/receiving section 102 and a printing processing section 104 for printing a report of transmission/reception records of the FAX transmitting/receiving section 102 manually or automatically on the basis of an instruction from a user. Furthermore, a display device 107 is included for displaying any one of statuses under manual report printing and under automatic report printing due to the printing processing section 104 at least during facsimile transmission and facsimile reception due to the FAX transmitting/receiving section 102. While the printing processing section 104 automatically prints the report during facsimile transmission or reception, the status under the facsimile transmission or under facsimile reception is displayed on the display device 107.
