PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum material having both excellent corrosion resistance and durability even under an electrochemically hostile environment, which are useful as an electrode material, by imparting corrosion resistance and durability against an outside environment and also suppressing galvanic corrosion in the inner part without impairing characteristics (such as excellent electroconductivity, workability, lightweight properties and recyclability) inherent in aluminum. Ž
SOLUTION: The aluminum material has a corrosion protective layer 3 and an electroconductive layer 5 formed on an outer layer of a substrate 1 made from aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and also has an adhesive layer 2 with an average thickness of 10-200 nm, which is made from aluminum or an aluminum alloy and is formed between the substrate 1 and the corrosion protective layer 3. The corrosion protective layer 3 has a natural potential larger than that of the adhesive layer 2 by -0.1 to 1.2 V, and is made from a material that is easy to form a passive state film in the atmosphere.
