POROUS PLENUM SPACER FOR DUAL-COOLED FUEL ROD

PURPOSE: A porous plenum spacer for a double cooling fuel rod is provided to store enough nuclear fission gas generated during a combustion process by securing a sufficient amount of plenum space. CONSTITUTION: A spacer(300) is inserted into a ringed space between the inner cladding tube and the outer cladding tube of a double cooling fuel rod. The spacer has a hollow cylinder body. A plurality of penetration holes(310) are regularly formed in the outer peripheral surface of the spacer body. The penetration holes have a circular or elliptic shape. A plurality of grooves are formed in a direction corresponding to the outer peripheral surface or inner peripheral surface of the spacer body.
