PURPOSE: A method for evaluating a moving image resolution is provided to quantify the evaluation standard of video resolution of a display device by displaying result of rotate scan after outline emphasis as a shape of clear pattern with detection of an outline component from the noises removed evaluation image. CONSTITUTION: A video resolution evaluation pattern is displayed on screen(S1). An evaluation image for evaluating the video resolution evaluation is obtained in the screen(S2). Noises are removed from the evaluation image(S3). An outline component of the evaluation image is detected(S4). The rotation scan is performed after the emphasizing of detected outline component around the arbitrary reference line passing as center(S5,S6). Using the pattern analysis of the scanned result, the video resolution evaluation pattern is compared with the pattern of the scanned result(S7).
