PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and health food of antioxication containing aminoethyl chito-oligosaccharide(AE-COS) are provided to improve COS antioxdation, to remove free radical, and to prevent activity of myeloperoxidase. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for antioxidation cotnains aminoethyl chito-oligosaccharides(AE-COS) of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. In chemical formula 1, R is (CH_2)_2NH_2, R1 is H or COCH_3, and n is 20-5,000. A health food for antioxidation contains AE-COS as an active ingredient. A method for preparing the AE-COS comprises: a step of adding chloroethylamino hydrochloride to COS; a step of dropping NaOH to reaction mixture; a step of stirring for 48 hours; a step of filtering the solution; and a step of acidifying the solution with HCl and freeze-drying.
