PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel and imaging apparatus, which have low noise and are inexpensive, and to achieve both an automatic function and a manual function. SOLUTION: The lens barrel includes: a manual ring 20 that rotates around the optical axis of a lens as a rotation center axis, by a rotating operation with a hand; an air-core type stepping motor 30 that rotates around the optical axis of the lens as a rotation center axis; a roller 13a that is disposed between the manual ring 20 and stepping motor 30, rotates linked with the rotation of the manual ring 20 as well as the rotation of the stepping motor 30; a differential ring 13 that rotates with the rotations of the roller 13a; and a link key 13b that transmits the rotating motion of the differential ring 13 to a lens hold frame.
