PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a weather strip capable of preventing deformation of a seal part in a vulcanizing process without having difficulties nor causing deterioration of manufacturing efficiency. SOLUTION: The weather strip 5 has a substantial U shape in a cross section, and includes: a trim part 11 in which an insert 17 is embedded in a longitudinal direction; a seal part 15 comprising a sponge rubber, and having a hollow part; and a bridge 25 which divides the hollow part into a first hollow part 15a and a second hollow part 15b. Further, communicating holes 28, 29 are formed in the seal part 15 and a bridge 25 at one of the ends (one end 5a) of the weather strip 5. The communicating holes 28, 29 are formed by penetrating a hole opening member from the seal part 15 side with respect to the seal part 15 and the bridge 25 at a position being the one end 5a of the weather strip 5 at a latter stage of an extrusion process and a previous stage of the vulcanizing process.
