<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide eaves for a building, which can reduce noises generated by the collision of raindrops with a top surface of an eaves plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The eaves for the building include the eaves plate 9, the back end of which is mounted on a wall side and which is supported in the state of being inclined forward and downward at a slight angle of inclination. The eaves plate 9 comprises: a large number of intermediate shapes 10 in which lateral engaging portions 16 and 17 directed in a longitudinal direction and adjoining each other are connected to each other; end shapes 12 and 13 which are connected to the right and left side portions of the panel 11 made by connecting the predetermined number of intermediate shapes 10 together; an end parting bracket 14 which is connected to a front end of the panel 11 connected to the end shapes 12 and 13; and an end parting member which is mounted on the panel in such a manner as to cover the front end of the panel together with the end parting bracket 14. A sound absorbing material 41 made of an foamed material is inserted into an inside cavity portion 10b between the engaging portions 16 and 17 on both sides of the intermediate shape 10 in such a manner that a flat top surface abuts on an inner surface of an upper end plate portion 10c of the intermediate shape 10.
