<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymeric compound for bioassays which is capable of controlling nonspecific adsorption or bonding of proteins without coating an adsorption inhibitor and a substrate for bioassays using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polymeric compound for bioassays is a polymeric compound at least having a unit capable of controlling nonspecific adsorption of proteins and a unit with a hydrophobic group, and a block copolymer.
