<p>The method involves providing a display unit (2) for displaying a control surface with control fields. Input element detection is implemented by touching a preset calibration region of the display unit with an input element e.g. pin or finger, to adjust the control fields at the input element and/or the display unit based on input element detection. Wrong contact of the control fields is monitored, and the input element detection is triggered when a preset number of wrong contacts is reached.
